The New Traitor....

Okay in this post I will cover a few high quality topics.

EXPECT WAR:
1) My last post [ Expect War] was off. So far we are not at war with North Korea. In fact at least recently it looks as if pressure from China and Japan re-arming was enough to keep the North Korea dictatorship at bay for now. Not to mention with half the country in starvation mode it appears the next time nukes come up we will be dealing with much less of a civilian population than North Korea has now.

Title Bout : BRITIAN VS. IRAN
2) Britain won't likely go to war over the illegal seizure of some of their troops by the Iranian government recently. Having said that Blair is using fighting words and the situation is serious. 40 years ago- this would have been a blatant act of war on the part of Iran. Now days- war takes a back seat to diplomacy which makes everyone happy at the moment but does not remove mad men from their reign. The good news- apparently much of the Iranian population is actually pro-USA and can't stand their leaders constant defiance of common sense. The sanctions will start to take their toll if Iran keeps its nuclear plan in place.

THE NEW TRAITOR:
3) The HOUSE in our own government is on a destructive path under Democratic leadership. Not only are we telegraphing our punches but we are giving terrorist an open "wait it out date". If we pull out in 2008 it will make Darfur look like a picnic and every nation in Iraq's undertow will be sucked into the power vacuum. Bush plans to veto the latest House bill set to provide emergency funding but set a date for withdrawal. Even Al Jazeera's website reporting sounded "excited" about the bill. So I will make this very public statement. Members in the house who voted for a pull-out date are TRAITORS. Under the definition "giving comfort and aid to the enemy" those who favor us pulling out of Iraq before completing our objectives are betraying the US. This also adds to my extreme frustration with Republicans who voted Democrat in the 2006 election just to make a point about a few bad and questionable Republican leaders. You made your point --- and you set us up for failure... nice job.

KATIE HOLMES:
4) According to US magazine Tom Cruise is pretty much destroying Katie Holmes life... and while she is a big girl and she can make her own decisions, if the stories are true it is desturbing to see anyones hopes of a fairytale life be crushed especially when it appeared she was so close. If anyone goes to a search engine and types in Tom Cruise and this blog comes up, you should know some of us are praying he snaps out of it. Because right now it looks like Tom is one of the biggest non-violent freaks out there still making good movies.

Expect War...

GAME OVER NORTH KOREA:

Why can Japan say "screw you" to North Korea and we are dancing around with China and Russia over a nuclear test we said "wouldn't stand."

For the first time ever yesterday I think President Bush actually looked weak on security. He said a lot of things I really liked but saying we would exhaust all of our diplomatic efforts (through the UN Security Councel) before destroying North Korean nuclear sites makes it sound like we just are not that serious about backing up our own words. Granted- I am all about diplomatic efforts, but I also think we shouldn't be saying anything we are not really willing to back up. If you remember the 80's Regan did not mess around when it came to protecting this nation. He threatened who he needed to threaten without out fear. It would be sad for a nation as mighty as ours to bend to the will of the likes of China, but it looks like that is where we are headed. I love President Bush, but it is time to call a spade a spade and deploy missle defense to Japan, South Korea and other allies in the region.

Tip for anyone moving forward. "Don't say crap you can't back up." It makes you look like an idiot. BTW, we are not the only ones. World wide China looks even more silly in this nuclear showdown. Afterall, they have nukes, they are right next to Korea and they seem to have no problem with what happened when it really comes down to it. War in the region would affect China more than they are willing to admit.

This weeks losers - China and the US. We just got made by North Korea and tests are not going to stop.

This weeks winner - Japan. A country not even the size of my state is not taking anything from Korea. In fact a Korean threat only lead to even more sanctions from the bold nation today.

Noboby wants war, but sometimes you just gotta take out a few dictators.

Dems Shooting Themselves in foot with gay voters...

Dems shooting themselves in the foot with gay voters ...

Let me explain -

  • The ACLU and the Moveon.org crowd both want to have the government bless gay marriage.
  • Foley sends sickening IM's to guys not quite 18 years of age.
  • Top Dems target Foley's hitting on guys with sickening messages as a crime which it very well should be.
  • Top Dems also favor teaching male teens about how to conduct themselves in sex with men in our public schools.
  • Wait a minute, to the Dems isn't this just "class in session".

Repulicans are consistant on the issue -

  • Get rid of pedophiles and those who harbor them.
  • Don't teach gay sex in schools either because, well that just promotes this crap.

Bill O'Reily, Biblical Idiot..

Bill O Reily just made the statement that he thinks Mathew Chapter 18:15-17's clear teaching on church discipline is "bull".

You know, for someone who claims to be Catholic, I don't blame him. You have to completely skip this verse to be Catholic. As for calling the words of Jesus "bull", that my friends is for O' Reily and Jesus to talk about later.

Bill, I love your show, but sometimes you sound like you have lost your mind.

Senator McCain Democratic Nomination for President.

Senator McCain Democratic Nomination for President.:

More than just a catchy blog title McCain seemingly gives mixed messages at every turn. Oddly he wants more soldiers in Iraq but when we actually catch terrorist he wants us to worry about how we are perceived by other nations concerning torture?

No one is arguing that McCain is not a hero in his own right. However in recent statements McCain seems to have become more of a shadow of his former self than a champion of America’s survival.

My fellow Republicans I am still in shock when McCain’s name keeps coming up as one of the best we have. Somebody get me Mitt Romney on the phone.

Janet Napolitano Uncovered...

On another note if you live anywhere near Arizona, run…. Janet Napolitician is still in charge and without some sort of miracle will likely fool many in the state into thinking she is actually a leader. Recently a 911 memorial here in AZ has become the bud of America’s jokes. Janet headed up the committee that worked on this sickening tribute to liberal idealism but now side steps the issue as if she is much too important to accept blame. Now they are telling us the refuse to take down the memorial’s liberal steel comment plates until after the election. Ain’t she wonderful.

And so it begins...

And so it begins... Republicans seem to blow two fundamental Christian issues.

I promise most of this blog will be political and social in nature but I wanted to address two issues it seems my beloved Conservative friends seemingly get wrong about Christianity on an almost daily basis. <note, high quality run-on-lead in sentence, followed by witty commentary.>

Myth number 1 : Christianity is not a religion. Religion is mans attempt to find and define God. Christianity is a "relationship" with a living God.

Myth number 2 : Christians start wars. Every single time I hear about Christians starting wars I cringe. To set the record straight, the wars started by Catholics centuries ago neither were started by true Christians nor were endorsed by them. Most Chrisitans in the churches Paul started in the New Testament would have been appauled and sickened by the worship of Mary, the confession of sins to Priests, man made sacraments, and the fact that very little New Testament scripture is even taught in Catholic churches. While there are similarites between the two theologies, according to the New Testament accounts themselves Catholics would be considered more part of "cult" than associated with Christianity of any kind.  I say this not to start a fight but to remind conservative commentators that they are sadly mistaken when they lump today's Christianity in with the wars the Catholics and other sects have started over the centuries.

Comments are welcome, I should also say that I grew up in a Catholic church and even taught Catholic youth for 3 years in the 90's as part of their Young Life leadership before eventually getting kicked out for challenging Father "Frank" on the abortion issue since many Catholics believe scripture is silent on the issue. Additionally it didn't help matters that I consistently presented the notion that Catholic tradition was less important than Biblical truth.

This post is meant to site fundamental and real differences between Christians and Catholics and not meant as an attack. Catholics perform some of the most vital services our nation has to offer and are a very positive impact on society and American culture.
